Hi jjaf,

Don't worry about your Bonjour "advice", at least you gave me something to try!!! :D
I googled for the spanish Windows error message (thanks for me telling me this is a Windows msg), and it seems to be a "connection reset by peer" socket error (Windows socket error 10054). The thing is, there is no simple solution to it, or at least I can't find it:

"Winsock error 10054 is "Connection reset by peer", or "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host". The error means exactly what it says - the remote host closed the connection unexpectedly. This happens when a connection is aborted, and there is no tcp disconnection handshake (fin, fin ack, ack) , but instead a rst (reset) flag is sent. A reset flag aborts the connection, and can be sent when:

- The device is suddenly stopped, rebooted, or loses its network connection.

- The device uses a "hard close".

- A "half-open connection" state occurs. That is, when one device not been receiving acknowledgements of the data it has sent, or it receives acknowledgement for an unrecognized sequence or ack number, it will send a rst flag to reset the connection. This particular case could have a variety of its own causes, such as misconfigured proxy/firewall or network quality issues resulting in too many dropped packets."

This evening at home I'll try to run Firefly in 32 bit mode as you adviced, or at least I'll check if it's running in 32 bit mode. I think in the end I'll probably have to install Windows 7 x32. Could you please tell me if your Firefly-SB connection is similar to mine (releases, etc.) and if it's working as it should?

Thanks a lot!

I run Firefly on a Linkstation Pro NAS, not Windows (hence my Bonjour gaffe). You should browse through the specific Firefly Media Server topic on this forum for information (e.g. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=23744). I may have meant "XP mode" rather than 32 bit mode.

I cannot imagine that Firefly does not work on Windows 7 64bit otherwise there would be many complaining threads on these forums. It should just be a matter of getting the configuration correct. I would hope that one of the more expert Firefly contributors can offer you more advice.

Thank you jjaf, I've made a new post on the Firefly topic. I'm seriously thinking about returning to my old Win XP config... Everything worked so nice back then!!
